Street cats in and around Tarifa
Here you can find some of the street cats that are looking for a loving home.
Schnuffi
This small, black male cat lives in a small village close to Tarifa. Despite his life on the streets, he is a very trusting, cuddly animal. He is almost always the first to greet us at feeding time. Being tame is not helpful for a life on the streets. Therefore, he is one of those who most urgently need a new home. With him, we can well imagine that he will quickly settle into his new family.
Schelmchen
ADOPTED! Schelmchen was found with two broken hind legs. She is much better now. She is already adopted, but still needs a flight to Germany. Due to Corona, all attempts to bring Schelmchen to her new home have failed so far. We hope that someone will be able to take her soon.
Siam
This trusting cat is already castrated. She loves to be in the spotlight. If we spend too much time with other cats, she pokes us with her head until we have provided her with enough food. Only then are we allowed to attend the other cats again.
Catrina
Catrina is a very shy cat. She urgently needs to be rescued. She lives in a small inland village. Until recently she was part of a 14-member cat colony, but from one day to the next almost all the cats have disappeared and Catrina is left alone and intimidated. What happened to the other members of her colony is a mystery. Like Catrina, they were all castrated cats. Presumably they were disposed of by begrudging neighbours. The incident remains under investigation and has been reported to SEPRONA (Environmental Police).
Peluche
Peluche is the only friend who still comes to visit Catrina from time to time. She is not as shy as Catrina and always seeks our attention.
Raya
Raya has been living on a campsite for many years and is fed there by the restaurant staff and campers. At Corona times there are hardly any guests, the restaurant is closed and the owners of the campsite don't want so many cats living on the grounds any more. Some campers must have complained. It would be nice if Raya could stay in her familiar environment, but if that is no longer possible, she would have to find a new home, preferably with a garden. She is already castrated.
Maya
Maya lives on the same campsite as Raya, but is younger and not yet castrated. She also feels very comfortable there, but would also need a new place if she were no longer allowed to live there.
Lucky
Lucky is a neutered tortoiseshell cat. She is trusting and gets along well with all other cats. Unfortunately, she also lives in a place where cats disappear frequently without a trace. A secure home could save her life.
Mimi
Mimi had fife black kittens this year. Meanwhile, we only see two of the fife babies, the other three were probably run over as they live very close to a main road. Her two kittens are very shy, but Mimi likes to be cuddled. She has remained very small, and her two kittens are already almost as big as she is. As soon as the small ones can manage without her, we will try to castrate Mimi. It would be very nice if she could find a safer place.
Capi
Capi is an extremely shy cat. He keeps his distance from us humans as well as from the other cats. It might be difficult to keep Capi in a flat. If there didn't already disappear many cats from his colony, we would prefer to let him live in freedom.
Misú
Misú is a beautiful male cat. He is confiding and gets along well with other cats.
